Anna’s Work

Performer

“I want to live like the woman you were on stage.  She was unapologetically herself; raw, sensual, fierce and feminine.” -audience member

When Anna found flamenco she found her life’s work.  For her there is nothing more challenging or more rewarding than performing flamenco.  Flamenco performers experience a transformation each time they perform. Anna invites the audience to join her on that journey of transformation.  Anna’s deep understanding of the history and culture behind each style of flamenco dance and song makes her style a tribute to the art form, yet her diverse training and experiences infuse her flamenco with a modern, lyrical flavor that is entirely her own.

Teacher

Anna’s flamenco workshops and classes are simultaneously dynamic, fun, and deep.  Her training as a therapist and her 20 plus years teaching movement have given her a skill set that makes her flamenco classes much more than just learning a passionate, bold and sassy new art form.  With her sensitive but steady guidance you will start to cultivate your authentic flamenco as you learn the techniques of movement and musicality of flamenco.

Whether you are a beginner, trained dancer or a dancer who hasn’t danced in years, you will time you work with Anna.  She believes that flamenco is more than technique and she is adept at tailoring each class to address each individual in a group.

Anna uses humor, acting, history, language skills and so much more to enhance her student’s experiences.  Her students always learn more than just steps.

Producer

Anna has dedicated her life to flamenco; learning, teaching, living and delving into flamenco as a practice for healing. Because of her husband’s career, Anna often finds herself living in places where there isn’t much flamenco. Never one to back down from an obstacle, Anna has become a producer of flamenco. She founded the annual Hudson Valley Flamenco Festival in 2018 and is currently working on two new projects to bring to audiences in New York and Maryland.
